5 Spring Ready Patio Ideas

Spring is here! If you’ve been spending too much time indoors, now is the best time to start enjoying the outdoors. You don’t even have to travel far and wide. Your own patio will do. But first, is it Spring-ready? If not, here are easy and affordable ideas you might want to try to revamp your concrete patio.

Hang Outdoor Lanterns

This is a great way to glamorize a tree right by your patio. However, if you don’t have a tree somewhere near the sitting area, you can hang pretty lanterns by the edge of the roof, on a trellis, or on a railing, whichever is available. You may also use fairy lights but make sure they are LED for energy-efficiency and safety.

Go for a Natural Look

Natural stone and wood look really good on patios. However, not everyone has the time or money to invest in one. So go for the next best thing: Stamped Concrete. This involves pattern mats or manual carving to replicate the look of stone and wood. The great thing about concrete stamping is that it restores the current patio that you have, thus, is more affordable. A stamped concrete patio is also easier to clean and maintain.

Add Curtains

Hanging some curtains not only makes the patio more welcoming but also adds a bit of privacy to the outdoor space. Choose a floral print to make it more relative to the season. If you are not a fan of floral prints, choose plain fabrics in bright Spring colors like pinks, limes, and other fun hues.

Furnish the Patio

If you already have outdoor seating elements, make them more comfy with couch pillows or a throw. If you have a dining set instead of lounge chairs, cover the table with a floral or brightly colored tablecloth. But keep in mind that this is an outdoor setting so choose a material that is easy to clean. Leave the linens for indoor use and instead go for a PVC or nylon type tablecloth.

Go Green

Plants and flowers are what Spring is really about so do not skimp on putting plants near the patio. Put them in pots and position them near chairs and tables. If your patio space is limited, choose smaller pots or place small ones on tabletops and on patio steps, if you have them. To make your patio more sustainable and useful, why not plant some herbs or veggies? Mint, lavender, and rosemary are not only useful, they also add a beautiful and relaxing aroma to your outdoor living space.
